To lay down a procedure for sanitation of U.F using Hydrogen Peroxide Solution.
This SOP is applicable to Formulations Plant.
2.1.1 Ultra Filtration Unit (Water Distribution Room).

5.2.0 Pre startup
5.4.0 Shut Down
5.1.1 Ensure that selector switch is in normal mode.
5.1.2 Ensure that ‘SANITIZE UF’ & ‘SANITIZE LOOP’ switch is in ‘OFF’ position.
5.2.0 PRE STARTUP
5.2.1 Ensure D.M Water availability in clean in place tank of UF module.
5.2.2 Also Ensure the air supply for control valves.
5.2.3 Keep all the chemicals ready & all accessories handy.
5.3.1 Collect 100 ltrs. of D.M Water in the Clean In Place tank.
5.3.2 Close the valves V14, V17, V20, V21, V23, V27, V28, V31, V52 & V67.
5.3.3 Fully open the valves V15, V16, V18, V19 and partially open the valve V29, so that the permeate flow rate should be 1200 lt./hr.
5.3.4 Pour 2 ltrs. of Hydrogen Peroxide (50%) in the Clean In Place tank through air vent hole.
5.3.5 Start the pump P1 for 30mins. to recirculate the solution through U.F module for 30 mins. and stop the pump P1.
5.3.6 Drain the solution in the Clean In Place tank by opening the valve V14. After completion of draining close the valve V14.
5.3.7 Collect the D.M Water in to Ultrafiltration tank and start the pump P1 for 30 mins. and then drain the water by opening valve V27. Ensure the pH and conductivity of drain water. It should be equal to pH & conductivity of D.M water. If conductivity of drain water is equal to conductivity of D.M water, then close the valve 27.
5.3.8 For normal use open valve V23 and close valve V24.
5.4.0 SHUT DOWN
5.4.1 After sanitization period is over close valves V29, V31, V50, V51, V52 and open V14 and V22 to allow the water in system to drain out.
5.4.2 After complete draining of water close V14 and open V22 and V9.
5.4.3 Take UV on line by opening valves V18 & V19 and closing V20 & V21.
5.4.4 Now the system is ready for normal mode of operation.
Note: User should change the SOP according to their DQ of the equipment.
